Come and join us Saturday

The weather is looking fantastic, the course is in excellent shape, I've got lots of food to feed you peeps and it will be a great day to ride your bike.  Come and join us at New Fane for the WEMS race!

Make the "re-injuring" of my "weed eater" elbow worth while.  Please.  :-)

COURSE UPDATE

I am sorry to say the State has denied our request to use the double track/hiking trails. Unfortunately this denial is due to the fact that too many people still ride those sections where bikes are banned.  By allowing us to use that during a race, they feel it sends the message that it's OK to ride the hiking trails. . . which, of course, it is not.

So the race lap will be the standard mountain bike lap (including all loops) for the WEMS race.

While I realize this is disappointing to many, I ask that instead of complaining we be THANKFUL the state even allows us to hold this event on their property.  5 miles of single track is better than not being able to ride at all.  If that does not appeal to you. . .there are many other cycling events that same day, choose what does appeal to you.

Thank you for your understanding.

NEXT UP in the WEMS series. . . The Northern Kettles Fall Epic - 9/14/13

Although it doesn't feel like fall. . . .next up in the WEMS series is The Northern Kettles Fall Epic.

Mark your calendar - Saturday, September 14th, 2013.

New Fane will once again be a TIME based race.  All races will end at 6:00pm due to the diminishing daylight.

Race times are as follows:

LONG distance - Runs from 8am - 6pm

MEDIUM distance - Runs from 1pm - 6pm

SHORT distance - Runs from 3pm - 6pm

Please KEEP IN MIND - your last lap must be COMPLETED by 6:00pm or it DOES NOT COUNT.

Sell or Buy with Brittany Nigh will once again be sponsoring dinner for the racers beginning at 6:00pm.  Awards will be given as soon as the results can be tabulated and approved.

We are hoping to have DNR approval to incorporate some of the double track (hiking trail) into the course this year.  Last year we were not allowed to do this.  We are waiting for that final approval.

Please note parking is limited. New Fane's lot is smaller than some of the other lots.

Also note there is NO OVERNIGHT CAMPING in the lot.  There are campgrounds at Mauthe Lake or Long Lake if you'd like to hit the DNR's web page to investigate that.

This is also a STATE park, so you will need a sticker (annual or daily) and a trial pass to do this race.  We will sell those on-site at registration for your convenience.

The New Fane trail head address is:  W431 County Line Rd, Kewaskum

Please check back for updates as we near our race date.

We hope to see you there!
